Entering the Lindsay High School campus as a senior was a bittersweet feeling, knowing that it was my last year as a high school student and I would soon be off on my own making huge decisions that would greatly impact my life. I was excited as well as nervous for my first, last day of high school.
My senior project is something that I have always procrastinated on. Growing up I have always heard high school students talk about how stressed they are over their senior project because they waited towards the last minute to actually do it. Listening to them I told myself I would not be one of them and that I would get my stuff done before time. Well, the time has come and I am still not finished. Although it is only the third day of school, I have realized how fast time does fly by. So getting my senior project done is something I can no longer put aside and procrastinate on. I have started working on it more in hopes that it be the best one out there.
Like most AVID students, I have chosen rigorous classes this year. Although most of them are not necessarily AP courses they are still pretty tough. I have chosen Physiology since it is a course needed in the Sports medicine pathway. I am also taking Physics which is a pretty small since there are not a lot of students who wanted to take the class, with that I am also taking AP Spanish Language. Compared to most of my friends my schedule is pretty hard. My friends have chosen easy classes and have up to two teacher aide periods. They said they wanted to make senior year as easy as possible. Although it does bother me at times, I stick with them because I know they will only help me in the future, whether it be for applying to colleges or simply using the skills learned in real life.
Right now my goal is to graduate high school with a good GPA so that I will be accepted to the university I would like to attend. As of now, I am not positive which university I want to attend but I do have a couple I've been looking at. My goal is to get into a good university and go into the kinesiology major. I have always been into fitness and the human anatomy so entering that field would be a great accomplishment.
I remember my first day of high school. Entering the campus with butterflies, I was excited to see if it was really as great as people made high school seem. Not only was I nervous but I was excited as well. This year was a little different. I wasn’t excited about attending my last first day of high school, I was excited that I would soon be on my own. Although the main difference between now and then was this year I wasn't so judgmental on the way I dressed. I was going to dress how I’d like and not how other people wanted me to. I'm excited to see what this year will bring me and how my senior year will go.
